AVIF to JPG

Convert AVIF images to standard JPEG files without installing software.

Uses your browser's built-in AVIF decoder — no extra library is loaded. If your browser cannot decode AVIF, the tool shows an error instead of producing a file.

  1. Drop a .avif file (or click to browse).
  2. Preview the JPEG output and tweak quality if needed.
  3. Download the .jpg.

FAQ

Is transparency kept?

JPEG has no alpha channel. Transparent areas become white.

Which browsers can decode AVIF?

Recent Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari (16.4+) can decode AVIF natively in most cases. If decoding fails, this tool reports the browser limitation — try a current Chrome/Edge/Firefox.

Does the file leave my computer?

No. Decoding and encoding use createImageBitmap / Image and the canvas API in your browser.

What about animated AVIF?

Only the first frame is converted, as with a still image.

What quality should I use?

Around 85–92% is a solid default for photos. Drop lower for email-sized files.
